  1. All the law is doing is codifying the Federal Law already on the books. It now requires state and local law enforcement officials to inquire of immigration status if they suspect that person is of illegal status while investigating another offense. It is no different than any other law on the books in every other country in the world. I travel the world and have been asked many times for my passport when working in other countries. It is stories like this that give out the wrong information. There will be no racial profiling because it is applied to all people. If a white Russian is stopped and for some reason the officer suspects he is here illegally then he to will be asked for his immigration status. Yes, most illegal immigrants in AZ are of Hispanic origin but no where in the law does it state only Hispanics are looked at. Remember they broke the law and must face the consequences of such actions. I believe in legal immigration because that helped make this country great but illegal immigration is wrong and needs to be ended and a process put in place to orderly move people across the borders. Amnesty is not the answer either since it rewards illegal behavior. The answer is reduction thru attrition for the current illegal immigrants living in the US and entry of legal immigrants in an orderly fashion.
