FIFA rankings: Not much to cheer for Africa

The latest FIFA world rankings has Africa not seeing much improvement. Spain, Germany and Uruguay still lead in the rankings while the best African team for the month of May, Côte D�Ivoire, still occupies its 15th position of April.

For example, Nigeria dropped three places to 63rd while Rwanda maintained its 105th position.

Geoffrey Mutai of Kenya won the New York marathon on Sunday with a time of 2 hours 5 minutes 6 seconds smashing the old record of 2:07:43, set by Tesfaye Jifar of Ethiopia in 2001. A record 47,438 competitors participated in this year's marathon according to race officials.
