A dynamic, one woman, musical performance encompassing three centuries in the lives of African American women, from an enslaved woman to Oprah. Featuring songs from Bessie Smith to Aretha Franklin, Lena Horne to Beyoncé, this energetic show commemorates the accomplishments of a greatly under-appreciated segment of American society. This hour-long play includes an artist dialogue with Thomasina Petrus and closing commentary from Atum Azzahir & Mahmoud El-Kati.
