USCIS to Hold Information Session on Obtaining a Green Card Through the LRIF Program
BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. — U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), the International Institute of Minnesota, and Greater Praise Ministries will hold a public engagement Nov. 7 to discuss the Liberian Refugee Immigration Fairness (LRIF) effort and provide information about how Liberians may qualify for a Green Card through the program.
Under a provision included in the National Defense Authorization Act for fiscal year 2020, certain Liberian nationals are eligible for permanent residence (a Green Card). Spouses and children of eligible Liberian nationals may also qualify for Green Cards. The deadline to apply for lawful permanent residence under LRIF is Dec. 20, 2021.
USCIS officials will provide an overview of the LRIF program, discuss eligibility requirements and respond to questions from attendees during the information session. The engagement will be held at Greater Praise Ministries from 1:30 to 3 p.m. The address is 7831 Brooklyn Blvd. Brooklyn Park, MN 55445.
