Actress and Singer Holly Robinson Peete to keynote Minneapolis Women of Color expo

The GATHERING! Women of Color Expo founded by veteran power marketer Sharon Smith-Akinsanya will be held Saturday and Sunday November 12 and 13 from 10am to 6pm on both days.

Its a star studded event featuring national and local acts. Actress and singer Holly Robinson Peete is the featured keynote speaker on Saturday. National and local musical acts ranging from Grammy winners Sounds of Blackness to gospel sensation Deitrick Haddon.

Founder Sharon Smith-Akinsanya said in a statement that the expo will be “showcasing the best that Twin Cities has to offer that helps to make it a great place to live, work and play.”

Robin Hickman of the Twin Cities, creator of Soulful Dolls will host a meet and greet. The Emmy nominated Hickman is well known locally for her work on helping young women recognize their own beauty and not the one portrayed on mainstream media. She also has a NAACP Image Awards nomination under her belt.
