BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. — Brooklyn Park business owners looking to expand into new markets will have an opportunity to connect with international trade experts and business resource organizations when the city hosts its 15th annual Business Forward Forum on Oct. 28.
The free event, themed “Global Growth Starts Here,” will bring together local business owners, elected officials and representatives of organizations that provide business and financial assistance.
The forum will be held from 11 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, at Edinburgh USA Clubhouse, 8700 Edinbrook Crossing in Brooklyn Park. Admission is free, but registration is required.
This year’s gathering will focus on how businesses can use local, regional and federal resources to explore new markets, build connections and compete in an increasingly global economy.
Featured speakers include Silvia Ontaneda, CEO of Trade Center of Americas, and Chris Peterson, senior international trade representative with the U.S. Commercial Service in Minneapolis. Brooklyn Park business leaders are also expected to participate in the panel discussion.
The U.S. Commercial Service, part of the U.S. Department of Commerce, helps American businesses explore export opportunities and connect with potential customers in international markets.
The forum will also feature business updates, networking opportunities and information about organizations that offer business development and financial services. Lunch will be provided.
The annual event comes as Brooklyn Park continues efforts to support local entrepreneurs and small businesses, including through its Small Business Center, which provides resources to help businesses start, operate and grow.
Although the forum will focus on international growth, the city is inviting members of its broader business community to attend, including entrepreneurs interested in learning about available resources and building relationships with other business owners.
