With a voice that fills the air with light, Gaëlle Wondje performs March 21st, at the Cedar Cultural Center in Minneapolis. Growing up in Cameroon, Ms Wondje has spent half her life on stage, winning competitions in university, reality TV contests, and then in touring nationally as part of a chorus ensemble.
Her repertoire blends traditional Cameroonian sounds of Makossa and Bikutsi with bluesy ballads, jazz, and Afro Pop music. Singing in French, English, and Beti languages, Ms Wondje’s musical range serenades her audience as well as inspires dancing. The Cedar will accommodate dancers with an open floor and limited seating.
This event is part of Alliance Française Mpls/St Paul’s Mois de la Francophonie : Celebration of Cameroon.
